Over the last few weeks we have touched on goal setting – now that you have your public speaking goals, let’s make them happen!
I’d like you to try this challenge. For example, your goal could be the 30-day challenge I have offered in Bootcamps. It is a goal that will change your voice and your ability to speak in all situations.
All you have to do is:
- Give one impromptu speech everyday for 30 days in a row; it could be a newspaper article, it could be something you’ve written in the past or present, it could be a menu!
- Record that speech on video, verbally or written…record through a smart phone, record by writing in your journal, typing it out on a Word document…
- Tell us the process that you used to accomplish your goal…Did you change your breathing? Did you look in the mirror as you spoke? What made it easy for you?
If 30 days is too much, try it for a few times a week, and build yourself up to the 30 day mark. Why 30 days? That’s how long it takes to notice improvements. I’ve had clients try the challenge and succeed in meeting their goals in becoming a better speaker. Need advice? Email me for any questions you may have! firstname.lastname@example.org
