Smile Away!

Many customer service and sales reps keep a mirror on their desk as a reminder to smile. While a smile is not seen on the phone – unless it’s through Skype – it is heard in the tone of voice, and the listener feels it.

A smile loosens the jaw muscles, which people frequently tighten up when speaking.  This smile is conveyed in the voice; we are instantly more at ease. So, try to remember to put a mirror on your desk – and smile.
