The King’s Speech cleans up at the Oscars

I’m so glad my clients suggested I go see The King’s Speech. This movie was a fine example of how to become a successful public speaker; how to achieve your goals and if any of you were glued to the screen on Sunday like I was, you saw the movie did not do too badly at the 83rd Academy Awards.

The King’s Speech won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay. The film had received 12 Oscar nominations, more than any other film. Besides the four categories it won, the film received nominations for Best Cinematography and two for the supporting actors and , as well as two for Art Direction and Costumes.

This goes to show that when there is a subject about finding yourself, finding your voice and gaining back your confidence…it really speaks to people. Everyone can use a little inspiration day-to-day. If you haven’t seen the King’s Speech, I strongly suggest you run right out, buy some popcorn, kick back and let the movie move you!

Have a happy start to March, and a happier start to spring. Take a look at Colin Firth’s acceptance speech when he won for Best Actor! Even he is well spoken as a person.
