With a new year comes new challenges

So what challenges you? What scares you even? How about public speaking? Communicating in all forms can be a challenge, especially if you are naturally an introverted or shy type of person.

Maybe this New Year, try something that freaks you out a bit; talk to a stranger, ask a long-lost friend to dinner, sign up for horse-back riding lessons (if you’re afraid of heights and horses, that is), go bungee jumping even. Shake off last year and look forward to a bright, healthy and happy New Year.  Here are a couple of quotes to get you thinking (and planning) that next challenge:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Mark Twain

Afraid of this? Challenge yourself to take some lessons!

“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.”

Bernice Johnson Reagon
